Andres Jansen unveils the agenda for November 13th, the RTE Summit 2019.

Despite having fond memories of the successful wrap-up of RTE Summit 2018, Andres Jansen is certain that this year’s edition on 13 November of 2019 will be even better. “We’ve learned a lot from last year – from what added to the experience as well as from what didn’t.” Theme for November: financing the RTE.

“We’re definitely keeping the peer-to-peer atmosphere and the frank, open approach. We’re also confident we can serve up just as exciting a set of cases to present as last year. What we’re adding this November is a request from our participants for more interactivity and discussion. Expect some Open Space-type moments around the most relevant topics, for example.

Finance and the RTE

One main theme for this gathering is the financial context for our work. How does Finance see us? How should the CFO create budgeting around what we do? What do we need here, and what do they need from us?

Naturally, this shouldn’t be an RTEs-only discussion. That’s why I’m seeking out speakers from some leading organizations with substantial experience working with RTEs on how they budget this role. I already have one or two speakers lined up – real heavyweights – but they’re not yet fully confirmed so I can’t disclose who.”

Your input wanted!

We´re still building the agenda though, and I´d really appreciate the community’s input here. For example, I remember someone suggested a pop-up workshop about the question of component teams versus multifunctional teams. I think it was Hao Li from Allianz, not sure. Superb idea, so we just did it. Let’s have some more suggestions from all of us!”

Two hundred expected

“This is a unique gathering for a unique community. We know and cherish that, and we´re careful not to blow it up. Still, we’re expecting to grow the event just a bit in 2019. We’d be blind not to: the community of RTEs is growing quickly as well.”

Share the view

Although 2018’s Summit had Johan Cruyff smiling down on the audience at the ArenA stadium, Andres expects similar awesomeness for 2019. The ’Music Building on the IJ’ is Amsterdam’s most prestigious venue for concerts and recitals, boasting fantastic 360° views of the IJ lake and harbor.” Andres, smiling in anticipation: “I for one hope to share the view with everyone there again.”
